Dear Community! This pandemic has really thrown some things into perspective for me. I am in a bit of a tight position, having lost a LOT of work, but not quite enough to qualify for unemployment, I am also now shouldering a much larger amount of bills due to some changes in my personal life, so all that is to say, I am here to WORK. MASMAS is a tiny cafe in the heart of Groningen, located on Oude Kijk in Het Jatstraat (yes, that is a street name!) and is sometimes referred to as "your second living room". Books line the walls, brightly colored pillows decorate every piece of furniture, plants hang from the ceiling, and its customers are so regular and loyal, they might as well be family.

On Sunday, March 27th, 2016, I completed my second and final Masters Recital at Arizona State University. The event truly commemorated all that I had learned these past two years from my teachers and peers at ASU. As I prepare to move onto the next chapter in my life, I fondly recall how each piece of this recital uniquely showcased the achievements I have made since I began my degree. July 31st, 2015 8 PM: The House Plant house show began with the soothing and rich vibrations of the steel pan. Two members of the Seattle Women's Steel Pan Project, Anna Mines and Oriana Estrada, showcased a set of two traditional songs and Bob Marley's "Is This Love?" to the warm and receptive house audience.
